18/Hour This position consists of providing IT support, as well as reference, and computer-assistance services for a diverse public in a library setting.
A high degree of computer and internet literacy is required.
A high degree of knowledge and experience concerning hardware and software issues, and applications, peripherals, and networking is required.
The ability to work successfully alone, and collaboratively, is required.
A successful candidate for this position is also strongly customer service-oriented with demonstrated experience in delivering service with courtesy, discretion, and tact.
They should have, or be able to quickly gain, a basic understanding of library functions, techniques, and technology.
The candidate should be energetic, self-motivated, proactive, and team-oriented.
They should be highly detail-oriented and trustworthy.
Applicants for this position must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma.
Some college-level coursework in an applicable field with some experience in library work is preferred.

Job Description:
An employee in this class performs specialized paraprofessional work requiring the application of current information technologies.
He/she demonstrates an enthusiastic, self-reliant and self-starting approach to job responsibilities, exercising good judgment in interpreting and applying library and county policies and regulations.
Maintains accountability and a high level of courtesy and tact when dealing with the public.
Assigned duties will vary according to the specific needs of the library and division of the workload.
While an employee in this class may work unsupervised according to scheduling and upon occasion, overall supervision will come from the Adult Services Librarian and Library Director.
Must maintain a good working relationship with the County IT office.
This position will provide IT support to all three Caldwell County Public Library branches, supporting staff computers and public access machines.
This position works 0-19 hours per week, as needed.
Evening and Saturday hours may be required.
Examples of (but not limited to) Duties Performed /IT Support Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues related to the library's computer equipment, applications, peripherals, and networking.
Provide front-line telephone, ticket, and email support from a central location.
Some in-person support and project work in the field, such as deploying new computers, maintaining and repairing existing computers, and assisting library staff with larger technical problems.
Maintains library software packages.
Develops and maintains Library IT related vendor relationships.
Provides user training and occasional instruction to the public.
Assists with library web presence.
Acts as liaison to the Caldwell County Information Technology Department.
Assists Library Director with E-Rate grant applications and related documentation.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Examples of (but not limited to) Duties Performed /Reference Support Assesses patron information needs, provides appropriate resources and assists patrons in locating library materials and electronic resources.
Plans and assists in programs and activities sponsored by the Library.
Merchandising and staging materials for high impact results.
Assists in shelving books and reading shelves.
Receives incoming telephone calls, responding to inquiries and referring to appropriate department or staff member.
Answers reference questions via phone.
Provides moderate personal instruction, assistance and troubleshooting for computers and other office equipment.
Provides basic reference instruction and assistance.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities General knowledge of the principles and practices of library science including experience and above average familiarity with computer technologies.
Ability to follow a new or established procedure and to perform work requiring accuracy and detail.
Ability to produce and maintain records and reports.
Ability to explain and use library tools and resources.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with library personnel, County IT staff, patrons and vendors.
Ability to learn new software applications quickly.
Must be able to work and travel from one branch to another and out of county for occasional workshops.
Extensive knowledge of Evergreen ILS system highly desirable.
Knowledge of Public PC Reservation System, Cybrarian, highly desirable.
Basic understanding of A/V support Understanding of inventory management Physical Requirements Sufficient strength, agility, visual acuity and verbal capability to perform the core requirements of the position which can require operating a variety of machinery and equipment and the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force to lift and/or move objects.
Minimum Education and Training High School diploma required.
Some college-level coursework in an applicable field with some experience in library work preferred; or an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR STANDARDS REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Physical Requirements:
Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment including computers, typewriters, copiers, printers, facsimile machines, calculators, postage machines, etc.
Must be able to exert up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 15 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary Work.
Light Work usually requires walking or standing to a significant degree.
However, if the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
